As much as I love my coffee, once in a while a refreshing cup of tea makes for a great alternative from the daily grind. When I reach for my loose tea, I also like to dig out and dust off my whistling tea kettle.
There’s something homely about using a proper old fashioned tea kettle that whistles when boiling. Sure I can use my pour over kettle that I use for my regular coffee brewing but when it comes to brewing tea using a stove top whistling kettle just seems right.
For those of you who are tea drinkers or if like me simply want to break away from the daily coffee brewing ritual, I have picked out below some of the best whistling tea kettles to take your tea brewing to a whole new level.
What to Look For in a GREAT Whistling Tea Kettle!
Not all teapots are equal, and if you choose the wrong one, it could leave you wishing you’d never parted with your hard earned cash in the first place. When selecting a great whistling teapot, there are a few telltale signs that will weed out the inferior and leave only the superior!
Let’s take a closer look at what makes a tea kettle better than its competition.
Many of the better whistling teapots will be manufactured from either Stainless Steel, Copper, or sometimes Cast Iron. Stay clear from Plastics or even Ceramics.
Base of the Kettle
The base is a good way to determine the quality of the kettle. Give it a tap with your finger, if it sounds thin it’s probably best to move on. If the base provides a satisfying a dull, heavy sound you know, you’re getting a quality teapot.
The capacity of the teapot is really going to “boil” down to personal preference. Obviously, a bigger pot is going to allow you to boil more water at any given time; a 2-quart water capacity is a good size to start with.
Choosing a tea kettle that can be used on a multitude of stove tops is going to be beneficial. You’ll find that the best teapot can be placed on any heating element such as electric, gas, induction and halogen.
Tea Kettles With The Best Whistle!
Aside from being a practical must have tool for boiling water a tea kettle also makes a significant design statement in your home. That’s what’s so great about regular kettles there are so many different designs, colors, and types that it can often become a full-time hobby trying to collect all of the different variations.
Do you think it’s possible to judge someone by their choice of tea kettle? Maybe.
Below you’ll find some tea kettles that I like the best, and I think you will also like too – but I’ll let you be the judge!

The first top rated tea kettle is from All-Clad. If you haven’t heard of All-Clad before they’re extremely well-known in the catering industry for manufacturing some top quality cookware. So simply put, you know you’re going to get the best quality tea kettle from these guys – they’ve been built to last!
A little bit on the kettle. It’s made from durable, high-quality stainless steel and features a flat bottom design ensuring that it sits comfortably on almost any stovetop. The tight fitting lid helps to facilitate a more efficient, fast even heating – more importantly, a quicker boil and more rapid whistle! The All-Clad features a full, tall handle combined with an excellent grip that helps when pouring and moving the kettle.
Oggi Copper Tea Kettle With Whistling Flip Open Spout
I must admit that this copper tea kettle is my favorite it looks awesome on top of a stove or counter, and the whistle is one of the loudest I’ve heard. I must point out that the Oggi kettle isn’t solid copper if it were it would demand a much higher price; instead, the Oggi kettle is copper plated over stainless steel. This combination is both durable and practical allowing for a more even, faster heating.
The Oggi copper kettle features an easy flip-open pouring spout for easy, steady pouring and has a functional 2-quart water capacity.
Le Creuset Enameled Steel Oolong Tea Kettle
For those of you looking for an authentic tea kettle, I highly recommend this offering from Le Creuset. The Le Creuset tea kettle is a combination of stainless steel with a durable enamel high-gloss coating which gives for an elegant look that is also practical in today’s modern kitchen.
The Le Creuset tea kettle features a broad base that allows for more contact with your stovetop so that your water reaches its boiling point much more quickly; when the water does reach the boiling point the single-tone whistle is deafening and clear.
Don’t let the enamel design put you off because the Le Creuset whistling teakettle can be used on almost any heat source such as electric, gas, induction and halogen heating elements making it a top choice for practically any modern kitchen.
Bellemain Whistling Kettle with Aluminum Base
For those of you on a tight budget and looking for a cheap whistling kettle I highly recommend you take a look at the Bellemain kettle. For the price I don’t think you’ll find anything better, the extra sturdy surgical stainless steel and aluminum layered base offers long-lasting durability as well as a fast water heating ability.
The first thing that catches your eye with this whistling tea kettle is the mirrored finish and elegant compact design.
